|What is Your Story?
What is one thing about you that most people don’t know?
What have you overcome in order to be where you are today?
How have your gifts, talents and desires landed you in your current business?
Most people can be educated on what you do, memorize your titles and taglines but rarely find out who you are.
People understanding precisely what you do and how you are different from others in your industry is important. However, it’s just as important to show people the human side of you through a feature story on you and your business.
How it Works
1.You can send me a draft of your speech/story, or we can meet in person or by phone and you can tell me your story while I type it up.
2. I’ll then send you a draft of your story for edits. I’ll add your changes and then I’ll send you a final draft. (Nothing is published without your final review).
3. I’ll then send out your story in the form of a photographic blog article through Geren Imaging’s email newsletter and social media. (I’ll also email you a final copy of the article so you can paste it onto your own website/blog as well.)
Your story/photographic blog article will contain a brief bio on you at the end with links to your business and contact info. You can even add a time-sensitive offer.
Most people choose to combine this package with a portrait package, but it is not required.
Why it Works
When people read your story, you’re never forgotten. You’re suddenly an intriguing, relatable and vulnerable human being. Your Story captures the essence of who you are by bringing to life your uniqueness, your relatable struggles, your passions and talents and how they contributed to the person who you are now and are the reason why you do what you do in your business. People always remember stories, and they do business with others who they know and trust.
Why tell Stories?
I merged my background in journalism with photography after so many business owners started coming to me with their stories. I found that there was a piece missing when I simply photographed them, and I enjoy seeing the responses of others when they share their stories. Even those close to them are often surprised how little they really knew about this person, and just how much they have accomplished and been through that hasn’t always been obvious. And of course, I enjoy seeing them get more business from sharing their story!
